Pavlova Western on Close Up, TV One

Exciting! The Western was on Close up (TV One, NZ) last night!
It's the first publicity for the film and it is an overwhelming start.
Two and a bit years since our last post here - post-production has been epic.
Nearing the end with one week of Final Sound Mix to go and then finishing off the VFX and Grade.
Things are moving rapidly now and it feels like the train has officially left the station - so we will be updating when things happen on the adventure. First of which would be - the search for the perfect title!

ordAn idea with a big future, I visualised it decades ago. Kiwi westerns of course. Even Kiwi western style pakeha/maori - a massive mine of material even in itself. The world cinema craves NEW MATERIAL constantly, and we have it right here = A WEALTH OF NEW MATERIAL, tap into it. But Pavlova Westerns.. brilliant ! the material, men, background is nigh identical to the actual Westerns that Hollywood so brilliantly tapped into. Yes, I am a westerns love (and obviosly not alone). And I know America and know my guns. Dont over do it, dont under do it, dont step out of the reality, ie keep the guns, clothes, attitudes 'western'. Remember the recipe is usually.. the stranger who rides into town, no-one knows where he is from or going, then the 'adventure' is the in-between. Old hat ? sure, but its just the classic 'western pattern'. Who better outside USA can pull off a great western than a Kiwi ? (or aussie ? ). YOU know what you want, and can pull it off brilliantly, wow u have inspired a fire withing me !! go ahead, but keep it antique/vintage and smelling of horse/cow sh*t. Gordon Weare, Warrington.
